Gary L. Snyder was born and raised in North Central Indiana. Gary learned early on that if worked hard and played by the rules, you could make a lasting impact on your community- a lesson he has carried with him ever since.
Gary is committed to service: God, Country and Community. Gary is committed to his Catholic faith and believes in protecting life, born and unborn. He served his state and country in the Indiana National Guard and United States Army as both a MP and a light infantryman. Gary’s service to the community includes being elected to the Taylor Community Schools Board of Trustees, defeating a three term incumbent, where he was consistently the lone dissenting vote against wasteful spending and increased taxes. The Snyder family also served as a foster care family for children in need.
Above all of his accomplishments, he is most proud of his family. Gary gained custody and became a single father of his three little girls, ages 6 months, 2 and 5 at the age of 25, until he met his wife Pepper two years later. Gary and Pepper, now married nearly 13 years, live in Huntington County with their 7 children: Alicia 19, Chandelle 17, Ashley 15, Emily 11, Allie 10, Gary Luke 4 and Ava 6 months.
